New Customer Feasibility Assessment
AccessNow offers a range of highly useful features that can automate physical access processes across different use cases in our customers' organisations. Additionally, Gallagher continuously develops and delivers new functions on a regular basis, ensuring more value over time.
Refer to the Features Overview to explore all the outstanding features currently available.
To ensure seamless integration with AccessNow, new customers should evaluate the alignment of their Command Centre setup and automation processes with its capabilities. Consider the following before implementing AccessNow:
1. Single Sign-On (SSO) Requirement
For the time being—until new functionality is introduced—only authorised users can submit requests through AccessNow.
Please note that Single Sign-On (SSO) integration is currently a mandatory requirement for using AccessNow.
Do all users who need to request access/credentials have the ability to log in via Single Sign-On, or are there external users/contractors without internal credentials?
Please specify the type of SSO in use. Supported authentication and authorisation protocols include OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0, and SAML.
If you have Single Sign-On (SSO) implemented for employees but not for contractors, please let us know. In cases where SSO is not available, is there a designated person responsible for managing access requests for contractors—someone who could submit requests on their behalf?
2. Command Centre Site Set Up
While we're working on supporting more sophisticated setups, a single AccessNow tenancy currently supports only one Command Centre server.
All Access Groups from Command Centre are imported into AccessNow as a flat list. Users can manage their display by hiding groups or renaming them.
AccessNow necessitates Command Centre version 9.1 or later.
How many Command Centre servers are you currently running? Would all of them require integration with AccessNow? If so, how are they configured e.g. do they operate across multiple sites or have any real-time synchronisation?
Can a separate AccessNow tenancy be implemented for each Command Centre server?
Is it acceptable to display a flat list of Access Groups to users requesting access?
3. Mapping Your Access Provisioning Workflow
To help us better understand your needs, please outline the access provisioning process you’d like to automate. Think about the answers to the below questions.
What are your primary use cases for access requests?
What is your current proces for granting access or credentials?
What approvals are required, and who is responsible for approving them?
Who will be the approvers for access requests, and are they clearly separated by site or division?
Do you need the ability to support different access provisioning workflows for different groups of users?
What are the essential reporting needs for these access provisioning processes?
4. Audit and Reporting Needs
To help tailor AccessNow to your operational priorities, we’d like to understand your expectations around audit and reporting capabilities.
Is audit and reporting functionality essential from the outset, or would the customer be comfortable starting with basic reporting and adding comprehensive capabilities later?
Note: A comprehensive AccessNow audit trail is planned for release with Command Centre v.9.50.
5. Data to help with quoting
AccessNow is charged based on usage and automated use cases. To ensure accurate pricing, the AccessNow quote calculator takes expected usage patterns into account. Please provide the following details to help us estimate your needs:
How many cardholders do you expect to manage?
Would all cardholders make access requests? On average, how many access requests do you anticipate per cardholder per year?
What percentage of credentials are newly issued each year?
What percentage of credentials are typically lost or replaced?
