# Controller 6000

Understand Controller 6000 lifecycle, variants, accessories, and support status.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Introduced in 2009. The C7000 range has replaced it, and an obsolescence notice has been issued. Support ends July 2031.
{% endhint %}

The Controller 6000 (C6000) is an IP based controller for localized access control, intruder alarms, perimeter security, and business automation. The range was introduced in 2009, initially with WinCE as the operating system. In late 2019, with the release of Command Centre version 8.20, the operating system migrated to Linux for improved security and performance.

## Power LED removal (2025 hardware change)

In 2025 the bright Power LED is being omitted from the controller, as it is no longer a requirement. It is removed at controller serial number `2532XXXXXX` onwards. This affects the 6000 Standard, Enhanced, Starter, and 2 Door variants only. SMB and High Sec continue to have them fitted.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/cc-hardware/controllers/controller-6000.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
