# Controller Firmware

If new controller firmware is available for a site, within the customers site there will be a message "New Firmware Update Available" will be next to the Controller component on the hardware tree.

* From within the customers site, click on the **Controller** lightbox.
* Click **UPDATE FIRMWARE** - a loading spinner will indicate progress.
* Upon success, a confirmation screen appears stating: **Controller Firmware Updated**
* Click **OK** to return to the hardware tree

If an update is available please complete the firmware update as soon as possible.  It will ensure the controller is running the latest version.  You do not need to wait for further instructions.
