# Morpho MA VP Series planned phase-out — March 2019

Review the 2019 Morpho MA VP Series phase-out and replacement plans.

**4 March 2019.** IDEMIA notified Gallagher of intent to phase out the **MA VP Bio and MA VP-Dual** finger vein biometric readers for all regions.

As of the notice, orders for the **MA VP-Bio** (Finger Vein without card) were no longer available. Orders for **MA VP-Dual** (Finger Vein with Card) continued from the current price list until the **End of Life date of 30 April 2019**.

| Part    | Ref       | Description                     |
| ------- | --------- | ------------------------------- |
| C864163 | 293586156 | MORPHO ACCESS MA VP-BIO READER  |
| C864164 | 293585753 | MORPHO ACCESS MA VP-DUAL READER |

The manufacturer's repair support for the outgoing Finger Vein readers remains in place for **2 years from date of purchase**.

Existing sites requiring spare MA VP-Dual readers were recommended to consider future requirements before the End of Life date.

IDEMIA planned to introduce a revised **MA VP-MD** Finger Vein reader in late April 2019, supporting only their latest communication mode (**MA5G**). The model required development before support in the latest Command Centre. Gallagher planned to schedule new code to support it when available, with some expected delay as the work is scheduled among existing workflows.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/product-advisories/historical-notices/morpho-ma-vp-series-planned-phase-out.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
