# MIP plugin

Understand how the Milestone Integration Platform plugin synchronizes Command Centre events and alarms.

The **Milestone Integration Platform (MIP) Plugin** integrates Command Centre with Milestone XProtect at the events and alarms level.

* **Share Command Centre events and alarms with XProtect:** events from mapped Command Centre items appear in the Milestone XProtect **Alarm Manager**. Events are mapped between the systems and can trigger Milestone actions, for example viewing associated cameras.
* **Clear alarms from either side:** processing or acknowledging an alarm in Milestone does the same in Command Centre, and vice versa. There is no need to clear it twice.
* **Override Command Centre items from XProtect:** Milestone operators can open a Door from a video feed, or override Command Centre items from a Milestone Map. They can visually identify a person before granting access, and view Command Centre item status in XProtect.
* **Show Command Centre cardholder images and PDFs in XProtect:** display a cardholder's image plus **up to three non-image PDFs** on an access request. Anyone badging at a Gallagher reader has their photo and details (phone, job title, vehicle plate, and so on) shown on the Milestone video wall in real time; the PDFs update in real time.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/integrations/video-management-systems/milestone/milestone-mip-plugin.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
