# IDEMIA reader compatibility and specifications

Reference supported IDEMIA reader models, Command Centre versions, capacities, ratings, and ports.

IDEMIA (Morpho) biometric readers (SIGMA, MorphoWave, VisionPass) integrate with Command Centre for enrolment and access control in one platform, with no external plugin sync or enrolment utility.

### Card technology by Command Centre version

Command Centre supports these card technologies:

* **vEL7.30:** Bio and MIFARE Classic.
* **vEL7.40:** Bio and MIFARE Classic. vEL7.40 adds MIFARE DESFire, available as a patch.
* **vEL7.50 to 8.10:** Bio with MIFARE Classic and MIFARE DESFire.
* **vEL9.10:** QR Codes, supported with VisionPass, MorphoWave XP and SP.

Sigma readers do not work with v7.20 and below, because those versions use an older SDK. Sigma readers require **v7.30+** (a newer SDK).

Warranty is 2 years on an IDEMIA reader and 1 year on an MSO enrolment device.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**MA2G readers are not supported from vEL9.30.** You cannot upgrade to 9.30 with MA2G devices configured.
{% endhint %}

Reader comms use **TCP 11010** (11011 secure).

### Reader family support

`Y` means the reader is supported on that Command Centre version. A blank cell means it is not supported.

Wave Compact / XP from **vEL8.10**. Wave SP from **vEL8.70 MR2**, then every version from vEL8.80. VisionPass from **vEL8.90**. VisionPass SP from **vEL9.30**. Wave XP2 from **vEL9.40** only.

The two related comms modes, and which mode each reader uses on each version, are on [MA2G and MA5G communication modes](/knowledge-hub/products/integrations/third-party-readers/idemia-morpho/reference/idemia-readers-morpho-ma2g-vs-ma5g-modes.md).

### Model range functions

{% hint style="warning" %}
The function table lists 12 models, including **SIGMA Multi**. The compatibility grid above lists 11 and has no SIGMA Multi column, so the source does not say which Command Centre version first supports SIGMA Multi. Both tables are shown as the source gives them.

Capture types at a glance, read from the table:

* **SIGMA Lite and Lite +:** finger. The Lite Multi adds card, and the Lite + Multi adds PIN and card.
* **SIGMA Wide:** finger.
* **SIGMA Multi and SIGMA Extreme Multi:** finger, PIN and card.
* **Wave Compact / XP:** wave template (multi-finger), finger, PIN, card and QR.
* **Wave SP:** wave template (multi-finger), finger, card and QR.
* **VisionPass and VisionPass SP:** face, PIN, card and QR.
* **Wave XP2:** finger, wave template, PIN, card and QR.
* Every model supports Wiegand and OSDP.

Default user databases, as the table gives them (each is expandable): Sigma Lite family 500, SIGMA Wide, Multi and Extreme Multi 5,000, Wave Compact / XP **20,000**, Wave SP 10,000, VisionPass 20,000, VisionPass SP 10,000, Wave XP2 40,000. All are IP65. The Sigma Lite family is IK08, and the IK09 rating belongs to the **SIGMA Extreme Multi**. The source leaves the Wave XP2 impact cell empty. Card types are Classic and DESFire EV1, EV2 and EV3.

| vEL8.90                | Idemia VisionPass Support                                                         |

### Part numbers and firmware

Each reader model has a specific part number. Gallagher software only supports communication with a limited number of IDEMIA reader models. From vEL7.80, a reader whose part number is not on Command Centre's list shows "An Unknown device has been connected". See [IDEMIA reader troubleshooting](/knowledge-hub/products/integrations/third-party-readers/idemia-morpho/troubleshoot/idemia-morpho-troubleshooting-and-faqs-morpho-troubleshooting.md).

IDEMIA uses two part numbers for the same unit:

| Part number | What it is for | Where you see it |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------ | --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Part Number Ordering Level** | The part number to use when ordering | Displayed as 'Packaged Product' on the box |
| **Part Number Product Level** | The unit's own part number | On the back of the unit and in MBTB. Displayed as 'Unit Product' on the box |

A part number you read in MBTB (Morpho Biometric Toolbox) or off the reader is the Product Level number. Compare it with the Product Level column, not the ordering number.

#### SIGMA readers

| Reader Range | Product Name | Gallagher Part Number | Part Number Ordering Level | Part Number Product Level | Firmware |

The source gives no Gallagher part number for the MorphoWave SP MDPI.

{% hint style="info" %}
Wave Templates can only be encoded onto **DESFire 4k+** cards, and only from version **8.70** onwards. They do not include the Duress Templates.
{% endhint %}

#### VisionPass facial recognition readers

{% hint style="warning" %}
**This table disagrees with other Gallagher sources in three places.** The MS0300 ordering number **293744571** is also given above as the IDEMIA VisionPass MD ordering number, so one of the two is likely a copy error. This table writes **MS0300** and **MS0330** with a zero, where the enrolment readers page writes MSO 300 and MSO 330; they are the same devices. This table supports the **MSO1300 E3 from vEL8.20**, while the enrolment readers page gives the MSO 1300 v3 from **vEL8.50**. Both values are shown until this is confirmed.

### Obsolete readers

These older Morpho readers are obsolete. The table shows the part numbers that Command Centre supports and the last known firmware release.

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you upgrade a site to **9.00 or above**, complete **thorough testing** for **MA2G devices**. Use the latest MR builds, which include fixes for pending updates and visitor management.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/integrations/third-party-readers/idemia-morpho/reference/idemia-readers-supported-morpho-readers.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
