# Aperio - Non-diversified MIFARE DESFire Object Advanced

Create a non-diversified MIFARE DESFire object and its AES key in Configuration Client, ready to encode onto an [Aperio lock](/knowledge-hub/products/integrations/third-party-readers/aperio/aperio-hardware/aperio-adding-mifare-desfire-to-a-aperio-lock.md).

## When to use this

Non-diversified objects can only be added to card types whose **facility code matches your licence**.

## How to configure the object

Configure via the **Card Editor**, then New Non-diversified MIFARE DESFire Object, then Properties:

* **AES Key** — 32 hex chars (type manually or **Generate**).
* **Application ID** — 6 hex chars. **Avoid Gallagher's reserved values:** `F4812F` (CAD) and `F48120`–`F4812E` (Gallagher applications, up to 15 per DESFire card).
* **Edit Common Properties** for the encoding technology.

| Gallagher Issued | Default ticked. A blank card gets a Card Master Key derived from the MIFARE Plus/DESFire key seed |
| Use card master key | When checked, the specified key encodes data; else the card must not require Card Master Key auth or dummy Gallagher apps must exist |

| Default Application Key | 48 hex. Required for cards personalised by a third party (pad a 32-char key to 48) |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/integrations/third-party-readers/aperio/aperio-hardware/aperio-non-diversified-mifare-desfire-object-advanced.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
