# Aperio - How to configure Mobile Credentials on Locks

{% hint style="info" %}
**Prerequisites:** Command Centre **v9.00+**, Aperio Programming Application **30.0.23+**, wireless lock firmware **3.19.0+** (a Bluetooth-capable lock), Mobile Connect App **iOS 16.03.049 / Android 16.03.038+**, and the Aperio Mobile Site Key/ID/Service Code configured on the Mobile Connect Settings tab of Server Properties first.
{% endhint %}

How to enable the Gallagher Mobile Credential on an Aperio lock, and how to set the auto-connect range.

## Steps

1. In PAP, right-click the lock and choose **Lock/Sensor > Configure**. Select **Mobile Credentials**, then **Add**.

2. Choose **Gallagher Mobile Credential** as the provider. Only tick **Use Two Factor Authentication** if the site requires mobile screen-lock auth before access. Copy the **Key, Site ID and Service Code** from the Mobile Connect Settings tab.

## Auto-connect range

The phone-to-lock read distance is set via **RFID General Settings > Bluetooth LE > Change**. There is no manual connect; the installer calibrates per lock. Aperio uses **RSSI** (Gallagher uses Path Loss). Approximate values at Power level -3: `0.2–0.5m ≈ -60 RSSI`, `1m ≈ -65`, `1.5m ≈ -68`.

## Mobile credential troubleshooting

| Mobile Connect does not see the Aperio reader in the Access Door list | App not current (needs iOS 16.03.049 / Android 16.03.038); or app upgraded after the CC server | Update the app, then set the cardholder's Mobile Credentials to **Disabled** and re-enable to resend the Aperio key (can be a Bulk Change) |
| Cannot configure Bluetooth sensitivity in the PAP tool | **PAP v32.1.6 does not support this** (Aperio investigating) | Use **PAP v31.0.27** |

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/integrations/third-party-readers/aperio/aperio-hardware/aperio-how-to-configure-mobile-credentials-on-locks.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
