# SMB — Security Made Better

Manage cloud-based access control and intrusion security for small businesses.

Gallagher **SMB (Security Made Better)** is a mobile-first, cloud-based security solution. It combines intruder detection and access control in a single app, with no on-site servers and no complex setup. It is purpose-built for businesses with simpler security requirements.

## Value proposition

SMB brings enterprise-grade security to simpler sites. It does that through a cloud-connected, mobile-first, hardware-rich ecosystem.

It was designed around common SMB pain points:

* the cost and time of granting staff access
* managing keys and PIN codes
* securing multiple locations

SMB reduces operating cost and administrative burden.

Traditional systems target large, complex environments. Those need on-site servers, specialist configuration and ongoing maintenance, which is costly and slow to deploy. SMB is faster to install and easier to manage. It is more cost-effective for organisations with **standard** access needs.

## Headline capabilities

* **Intruder alarm.** Arm and disarm from anywhere via smartphone.
* **Access control.** Lock and unlock via smartphone, SMB Key Tag, card, or user code.
* **Multi-site.** Manage unlimited physically separate sites from one app.
* **Self-monitoring.** Real-time alarm notifications, with optional guard dispatch (**AU and NZ only**).
* **User management.** Add, edit and remove unlimited users at no extra cost.
* **Third-party monitoring.** Route alarms to a monitoring company.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/cloud-services/smb-security-made-better.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
