# Communication

Understand OneLink traffic flow, local controller communication, and firewall allowlisting.

All controller-to-cloud communication is on **port 443**. The **Controller Registration Service** is part of the Gallagher Cloud, not an external system.

![OneLink topology - the Local CC Server and a 7000 Controller each connect to the Gallagher Cloud over TCP 443, with the Controller Registration Service above](https://328339335-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F6bM8WhlBE9BYizPWJaPN%2Fuploads%2Fgit-blob-a6b8e4b1701fc28b355b8a603ff9dcea5e6c12a5%2FSECHUB-onelink-communication-01.png?alt=media)

## Registration sequence

1. The controller starts with **DIP switches 2 and 7 on** and reaches the Controller Registration Service.
2. The service talks to the Gallagher Cloud and identifies the destination Command Centre server.
3. The service tells the controller how to talk to the Gallagher Cloud.
4. The controller and the Command Centre server communicate through the Gallagher Cloud.

## Local network path

Each controller connects to the cloud on **443**. Controllers on the same LAN talk to each other on **1072**.

## Networking requirements (firewall allowlist)

> These are public Gallagher cloud service endpoints. Allowlist them on the site firewall.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/cloud-services/onelink/communication.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
