# GallagherFTCAPI.dll Failed to Load

**Error:** "The module 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Gallagher FTCAPI\GallagherFTCAPI.dll' failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .dll files. The specified module could not be found."

You are unable to uninstall or install Gallagher FTCAPI (Controller API). This can also happen when uninstalling the Gallagher FTCAPI Middleware Framework (FMF). The message shows up when you uninstall the Controller API and the FMF was also on the same machine.

Both the Controller API and FMF use the same `GallagherFTCAPI.dll` during installation, which is registered onto the machine. When the DLL is registered a second time, it breaks the first registration and the first one becomes unregistered.

## Resolution

1. Uninstall the second application (in this case, the FMF).
2. Re-register `GallagherFTCAPI.dll` for the Controller API using a command prompt with Admin rights.
3. The Controller API DLL is at `C:\Program Files (x86)\Gallagher\Gallagher FTCAPI`.
4. Run: `Regsvr32 GallagherFTCAPI.dll`
5. A prompt confirms the `.dll` is successfully registered.
6. Retry the Controller API uninstall.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/cc-software/troubleshoot/command-centre-errors/gallagherftcapi-dll-failed-to-load.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
