# Unable to Login to Configuration client but can open through Co

[Command Centre - Connection Issues](/knowledge-hub/products/cc-software/troubleshoot/command-centre-connection-issues.md) › Unable to Login to Configuration client but can open through Command Centre Client

The Command Centre Client app launches, but the Configuration Client fails to run and open. There are two known causes.

## Cause 1: Region mismatch

Example log:

```
2023-10-17 08:11:53:041, CCFT[15ec:057c], TRACE, CWAD::Logon - User name: 'system', Workstation: 'Gallagher-WS'
2023-10-17 08:11:53:041, CCFT[15ec:057c], TRACE, Resource manager exception: ( GetRfc1766Info Failed )
```

**Issue:** A Microsoft API issue fails to translate the LCIDs to the correct readable text, causing an incorrect language format.

**Workaround:**

* Navigate to **Control Panel > Clock and Region > Region**.
* Change the **Format** section to **English (US)** or **English (UK)**.
* Confirm there are no multiple `config.exe` processes running in the background (Task Manager).

**Solution:**

1. Update to the latest Windows Update.
2. Change the format to either English (US) or English (UK).
3. Revert back to the required format for the site.
4. Restart the server/workstation.

## Cause 2: Web Sockets not being enforced

Same symptom (Config client will not open, CC client will). Example log:

```
2024-03-11 10:09:54:919, [19344:1], DEBUG, UnsafeOpcUaClientLogonManager.BeginDiscoverEndpoint searching for the server
2024-03-11 10:09:54:999, [19344:5], DEBUG, UnsafeOpcUaClientLogonManager.DiscoverEndpointComplete ---------- In DiscoverEndpointComplete. -----------
2024-03-11 10:09:57:001, [19344:1], TRACE, App.Application_Exit application shutting down
```

**Issue:** The Web Sockets used for communication between Workstations and Server can sometimes fail to start (rare).

**Workaround:**

* In the CCFT registry, if you find `ClientUseNewWebsockets=0` (which forces the old WebSocket protocol), **remove it**.
* If the key is not present, you can add `ClientUseNewWebsockets=1` to the server and workstation to **force** the new Web Sockets for communication.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/cc-software/troubleshoot/command-centre-connection-issues/command-centre-connection-issues-unabl.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
