# Entra ID Sync limitations and licensing

Review Entra ID Sync compatibility limits, Command Centre license entries, and Microsoft Entra licensing.

## Limitations (v1.x.x, CC v9.20/9.30)

* Do **not** use Active Directory Sync and Entra ID Sync for a Command Centre server at the same time.
* Ensure AD Single Sign-On authentication from the Entra ID Sync middleware server to the Gallagher server works correctly.
* v1.x.x does **not** support signing into Command Centre using Entra ID SSO. Entra ID SSO is available from CC v9.40 with Entra ID Sync v2.x.x.

## Compatibility

* **Command Centre multi-server support** — Gallagher has **not tested** importing data from Entra ID into a CC multi-server environment (it may work in some scenarios). Exporting data from a CC multi-server environment to Entra ID is **not supported**.
* **Mobile Credential support** — the Entra ID Sync Service can register Mobile Credentials using **Card Type Mappings**. If Command Centre Cloud is configured appropriately, invitations can be sent as soon as the Mobile Credential is created in CC by the Sync Service.
* **Microsoft Active Directory** — this feature is not for AD. For the separate 'Active Directory Sync' feature, contact the Gallagher Support Team.

## Command Centre licence

```
[Features]
Notifications=1
EntraIDSync=1
[Limits]
EntraIDSyncFrequencyMins=X
```

`X` is how often (minutes) Entra changes are synced to CC (for example `=10` means every 10 minutes). During a **full sync / full resync**, the service syncs as fast as it can regardless of `X`; you may run a manual full resync as often as needed. The **`Notifications`** licence entry is needed for the Sync Service to set the notification flag for a PDF.

**Entra ID licence:** Gallagher recommends at least an **Entra ID P1** licence.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/products/cc-software/configure/identity-solutions-cardholders-and-ope/entra-id/entra-id-limitations-and-licensing.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
