# Contractor conduct policy

Review the minimum conduct standards for contractors, suppliers, and Channel Partners.

This Code of Conduct is based on the UN Global Compact, OECD Guidelines, UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and ILO principles.

It applies to contractors, suppliers, resellers, dealers, distributors, agents, Channel Partners, and consultants. They must cascade it through their supply chains. Meeting or exceeding the code is a key factor in Gallagher procurement decisions.

### Minimum standards

* Labor and human rights: Comply with local laws. Do not confiscate IDs or passports. Do not charge recruitment fees. Child labor is prohibited. Prevent discrimination, bullying, harassment, and coercion. Respect freedom of association. Provide lawful wages and benefits. Limit work to 60 hours weekly, including overtime. Provide voluntary overtime and at least one day off each seven-day period.
* Health and safety: Provide a safe workplace, personal protective equipment, and training. Maintain clean facilities. Support mental and physical well-being. Do not retaliate against people raising concerns.
* Environment and sustainability: Comply with environmental laws and permits. Improve lifecycle performance and prevent pollution. Source minerals responsibly, including tantalum, tin, tungsten, and gold. Avoid conflict and modern-slavery sources. Engage the Responsible Minerals Initiative.
* Business ethics and integrity: Do not tolerate fraud or corruption. Do not offer bribes, kickbacks, or facilitation payments. Comply with antitrust, sanctions, export, import, and trade-control laws, including New Zealand and United States laws. Respect intellectual property.
* Cybersecurity and privacy: Implement security measures aligned with Gallagher policies. Notify Gallagher promptly of material breaches. Keep Gallagher and customer data confidential. Use data only for the contracted purpose. Protect personal information.
* Compliance and continuous improvement: Maintain due-diligence systems. Notify Gallagher of suspected breaches. A material breach is a breach of contract and may end the arrangement.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.security.gallagher.com/knowledge-hub/deployment-resources/security-and-compliance/gallagher-policies-library/contractor-conduct-policy.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
